MORE INFO
As you know, our sole mission is to ensure that not one child in our community ever has to worry about food. Statistics show that one in five young children in Middle Tennessee would go hungry without the free and reduced lunches in the schools. Yet, what happens when schools go on seasonal school breaks? This is where Food to the Rescue (FTTR) plays a vital role.
During the two-month summer break as well as the two week fall, winter and spring breaks, our network of volunteers pack and deliver nutritious food boxes to these hungry children 6 times a year! Working along with local churches, businesses and volunteers, the local FTTR group has set its goal to provide services to those in need in all areas of Putnam and Overton Counties.
Many in our community are already involved and partnering with us; as our first food delivery was to only 8 children in June 2017. We have grown to feeding over 1000 children in Putnam and Overton Counties combined and would love to continue to grow to other surrounding counties with your help! We are currently looking for donors to feed children in Jackson County starting in 2025!
We are 100% volunteer operated with $0 in payroll. Therefore 100% of all donations go directly to purchasing & packaging food for the children. With the rising cost of food and the growing number of children needing food at home, WE NEED YOUR HELP!
We currently spend $25 per individual food box each distribution, which contains around 22 meals of easy to open, ready to eat, high protein foods, fresh fruit and bread. Therefore, FTTR spends $150/child per year providing over 132,000 meals to local children in just 1 year!
For just $12.50/month, you can feed 1 local child! OR feed 10 for just $125/mo!
OUR LOCAL CHILDREN NEED YOUR SUPPORT!
Will you consider donating to ensure no child in Putnam, Overton or Jackson County is hungry?

Testimonials
We would like to share several testimonials of gratitude from some of our recipients. Like many, they never imagined they’d be in a position where putting food on the table for their children was a struggle.
"I am a mother of 4 children. My youngest 3 have received food from Food to the Rescue company for many years when their schools were out for break. It has truly been a Godsend for my family. I don't work, and one of my children is special needs. Thanks to the Food to the Rescue company my children didn't have to worry about when they'll get to eat. They are always super excited to open the boxes and see what came. Thank you for easing this mother's peace of mind." - Mom of 4
"Mother of 3 and raising nephew. The food is really appreciated, and it's all food my kids and nephew will eat. My nephew is always wondering when the raviolis are coming because he loves that the kids could just heat up and eat while the parents are at work, and it also gives the parents that's living paycheck to paycheck through the next week. It is a blessing." - Mom of 3 also raising a nephew
"So I want to thank you so much to all the people who have helped Food to the Rescue. There was a time we were short on food, and this has helped us so much. There was one time we had extra, and a friend needed help, so it helped them and us. I have 5 kids from 15 to 12 months. I left an abusive husband 3 years ago, so this helped when he sold the food stamps, and didn't let us have food. People don't know our story, but I am so grateful for you all. You have helped so many people, not just us. Thank you to all the volunteers who have delivered in the rain, snow, and have always been so kind." Single mom of 5
"I am a grandparent that has found myself in the throws of once again raising children. My grandchildren are 9 and 5, and I am so blessed to have them. Knowing how hard it was to raise my children I never imagined being back in the same spot 20 years later. This time though it seems to be so much harder to raise 2 instead of 4. Food to the Rescue helps with those weeks and months the children are home more. The food helps reduce some of the stress, and I am truly grateful and blessed for that. Thank you." "Y'all have been incredible help, and we appreciate y'all more than I can say. Thank you to all of the volunteers!" Dad of 1
